In today’s tech world, formal cards and invites can be hard to come by. Receiving a beautiful card in the mail is one of life’s little pleasures that we tend to forget about, but every once in a while, when a wedding invitation or holiday card comes in the mail, I remember just how beautiful and personal they can be.
A little known fact about me: I was on my high school’s yearbook staff all four years, and I even served as Editor-in-Chief my senior year, so I’ve dabbled in design and print. There’s something captivating about creating a timestamp that captures a momentous moment in your life. My appreciation for creating timeless markers to preserve memories runs deep, which is why I am excited to share my experience with Basic Invite with you. I had a seamless and pleasant experience designing my cards with them.
As much as I love creating something from scratch, I’m not one to pass on a well-designed template. There’s definitely no shortage of that on Basic Invite’s site. I think I had about 30 tabs open trying to narrow down which design I wanted on my cards!
Once I decided on the design, it was time to make everything just right. I was impressed with their customization options, down to their almost unlimited color options, flaunting 180+ choices. I had fun playing around with that and liked that I could change the color of each element on the card. The colors update in real-time, so you are able to see exactly how it’ll look like.
While I didn’t choose to have foil on my cards, they do offer flat or raised foil in gold, silver, or rose gold, which would add such a glamorous touch. You even have the option of upgrading your paper type to create a more luxurious experience for your recipients. Their envelope options range from classic white to shimmer options to basically any color of the rainbow to ensure that they pair perfectly with your cards. They offer an address capturing service that allows you to collect friends and family’s addresses and subsequently have printed on the envelopes at no extra cost. Talk about a complete package!
Best of all, Basic Invite allows customers to request a printed sample of their product before committing to a larger quantity. If you’re a perfectionist like me, this is great news! Getting to hold a finished product in your hands and examining it to make sure it’s exactly what you wanted is not commonplace. I, for one, know that I would’ve loved the option to see my invitations come to life, to have a feel of the paper quality, and see how everything looked printed.
Now that I have my hands on a new set of thank you cards, I’ve been browsing their selection of holiday cards. I have wanted to send out holiday cards for several years now, but never got around to it come the holiday season, so I figured, why not take advantage of quarantine and stay ahead of the game? I have a wide selection of holiday pic cards, Christmas cards, and Christmas invitations to choose from. The designs are whimsical and capture the holiday season perfectly. I’m looking forward to picking the perfect design for our family cards!
