A CUPPA LILLY
Hong Kong's got it all -- the hustle and bustle of an international hub, pockets of colonial remnants from British Hong Kong, tranquil beaches and mountains to escape all the madness. As many of you know, Hong Kong has and forever will have a piece of my heart. My family is from there and I've spent an enormous chunk of my life there. I could go on and on about how much this small but mighty country has to offer, but it truly wouldn't do it justice.
We spent most of our morning on the second day bopping around Kowloon. I love having my parents with us, as they're the best tour guides (even though I've probably heard most of the things they have to share about Hong Kong and all the fun little tidbits).
We booked a special dim sum lunch at Tin Lung Heen, one of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong. It's located on the 102nd floor, overlooking Hong Kong, so you enjoy the spectacular view while indulging in their amazing dishes. Since this is only Samuel's second time to Hong Kong, we went into Stanley for the rest of the afternoon to show him around. I loved going to Stanley when I was little. It's nothing like what you would think when you think of Hong Kong. It used to be a fishing village and is now a peaceful seaside community removed from the city.
While we didn't go this time, I'd suggest stopping by Repulse Bay if you plan on visiting Stanley. They're neighboring areas and Repulse Bay is so incredibly beautiful.
I brought along plenty of easy dresses that I could just throw on, like this dress. Flowy swing dresses are ideal, since it's insanely humid and hot in Hong Kong and the last thing you'll want is tight clothes that cling to your skin. I don't recall if I've ever visited Hong Kong in late April, but the weather was more temperate than I expected, which was so nice.
We ended the day with a nice dinner at China Tang. It was our first time dining here per our friends' suggestion, and the food was exquisite. I was swooning over their decor -- the interior was inspired by old China, so think lots of florals and Chinoiserie.
