We spent our first afternoon in SoHo sightseeing, as it's not a place we visit frequently. Given how many times I've visited Hong Kong, I've probably only been in this neighborhood five or six times. SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong are primarily hotspots for nightlife. In the daytime, you'll find mostly find streets lined with vendor stalls. You'll most likely pass by the Cat Street Market where you can pick up souvenirs and silly finds.
SoHo is actually incredibly charming. It still has plenty of colonial influences and plenty of Instagrammable spots while easily maintaining the cultural charm of Hong Kong. I particularly love Pottinger Street (those famous stairs in the first picture), Pak Sing Ancestral Hall (right outside of SoHo), and Man Mo Temple -- both amazing cultural spots that I high recommend visiting.
As you can see, straw bags have been my favorite bags as of yet. They're stylish and inexpensive, so it's tempting to want to buy every single one in sight. I love the texture and extra color that it adds to an outfit. I'm carrying a flamingo-adorned straw bag from Honeymoon Hats. It paired so well with my Lilly dress. Best of all, the bag is huge, so I was able to fit all the souvenirs that I picked up along the way!
I now am so keen on packing cute and comfortable clothes and footwear when traveling. This trip was the first one where I exclusively packed sneakers, no flats or dressy sandals. It worked out so well that I wish I'd packed this way in the past -- it certainly would've saved my feet!
