I'm always looking forward to the day when spring dresses begin to trickle out. Kate Spade is one of my go-to designers, and they have some darling pieces out for spring, including this dress. I absolutely could not contain myself when I spotted this sweet number adorned with lace and a romantic white and green floral print.
The spring and summer releases are always my favorites. The prints and styles are so unapologetically fun and I just can't get enough.
I brought my new dress to New Orleans knowing that I'd get to enjoy wearing it in gorgeous 80 degree weather. Dresses are my favorite things to wear while traveling because they're just so carefree and easy. I received quite a handful of complements on it, so I'll definitely be rewearing this piece over and over again once it warms up for good.
I purchased this straw bag last summer and never had a chance to take it out before fall hit. When I found out that we were going someplace warm, it was the first thing I packed. I just adore the ruffles and the bow -- such a fun touch!
We'd gotten into New Orleans just the night before and only spent a few hours out wandering down Bourbon Street and taking in all the Mardi Gras craziness. But when we headed out the next morning, the streets were magically good as new and we practically had the entire city to ourselves.
As I've gotten older, I've been less insistent on having a packed schedule. I now prefer a leisurely afternoon wandering around the city, and we couldn't have asked for a better city to explore. New Orleans is beyond charming! Every street we turned down was more colorful than the next. In fact, other than stopping for meals and snacks, we spent most of our day ogling over the pastel sites.
This was only our first trip to New Orleans, but we had such a fantastic time! We've been back a little over a week and I'm already longing for some fresh beignets, pastel perfection, and beautiful weather!
I'm working on our full New Orleans itinerary post, where I"ll be sharing everything that we did, so keep an eye out.
