VELVET CRUSH

When velvet took the world by storm two years ago, I never found anything that I was itching to get. It's back again this season, and I couldn't be happier about that. Though I imagined myself purchasing velvet pieces of the navy and black variety, this Topshop dress caught my eye. It comes in black, too, which honestly, I like more, since the sparkly details pop against the dark hue.

In my mind, velvet is a winter texture, probably because my mom dressed me in velvet dresses for so many of my piano recitals and performances, which were usually in the wintertime. But with the abundance of hues available, I could easily wear velvet year-round. I like that this dress is strappy so I can actually pull it out again once spring rolls around.

I ordered this coat from Club Monaco a few months ago, but never even took it out of the box. It's now on sale, so it's the perfect time to snatch one up! It's wool, so it's extremely cozy. The fur stole is the perfect touch of glam and I can’t wait to wear it again once the weather warms up.

Club Monaco is one of my favorite stores -- I'll go in and want everything. Their pieces are stylish yet simple. which is right up my alley. And their color scheme tends to revolve around pastels and whites, so it's basically my dream closet.

I received this Chloé bag from my parents for Christmas and I am obsessed with it. I’ve wanted it since it came out, but I didn’t want to commit to a trendy designer bag. You all know that I'm a fan of the classics and wouldn't splurge on anything that won't stand the test of time. I actually love this bag more than ever, and the top handle can be folded down, acting more as an accent, which allows me to wear the bag a totally different way, as a crossbody.

I can't resist a beautiful pair of shoes (who can?!), so when I was shopping with my mom and she brought these over, I was floored. They're not a style I typically wear -- I tend to go for flats, not loafers. The metallic brocade pattern really elevates my entire look, and best of all, they're definitely something I see myself wearing again and again. My shoes are usually in a neutral shade; that way, I get the most use out of them. If I'm getting a patterned shoe, I make sure that the colors in the shoe match the majority of my clothes. In this case, blush, ivory, and a hint of gold.
