Eat Boudin sourdough bread. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Shop in Union Square. Drive down Lombard Street.
The list of San Francisco attractions for tourists and locals alike is as long as the Bay to Breakers run.
Personally, I'm all for crossing off the must-visit attractions before I venture out on my own. And if I get lost on my way, then so be it.
While I was chatting with a couple girlfriends about our favorite spots in the city, it hit me that I hadn't explored all, or frankly, much of San Francisco. I usually find myself in the same areas at the usual restaurants and stores. And I'm actually disappointed with myself that I live in such a beautiful part of the country yet don't take full advantage of it.
So, last weekend, while I was in town, I participated in an age-old San Francisco tradition: riding a cable car. Or at least I attempted to. The most popular line is the Market and Powell. There's almost always a line around the turntable.
I actually don't recall ever riding on a cable car in my adult life. But according to my parents, we rode them a lot when I was younger because I thought they were roller coasters (those hills!).
I had dressed up a little, hoping to snap some photos against the stunning San Francisco backdrops. I had brought along my new Cult Gaia bag, which is every bit as unique as it seemed online.
This season's trends are everything I hoped for and more. It was a long time coming -- winter was exceptionally unpleasant this year, filled with tons of storms and chilly days.
I've wanted a pleated pink skirt (check!) and a blue seersucker skirt (and check!) for the longest time. I'd just never come across anything that I liked very much. And I hardly ever settle for something. I will wait it out.
I snatched this blue skirt the moment I saw it -- it was exactly what I wanted. However, I wish the skirt were fuller and the material wouldn't bunch up at the waist. I'm going to bring it in to get tailored to fit me better, but overall, it's a great buy. I know I'll be pairing this skirt with plenty of pink and white tops this summer.
